49th Street: Per the owner, the floor drain and shower drain backed up about 1 week ago in the basement apartment. The tenant removed the wet carpet from the living room. The water also affected hallway walls, bathroom walls, and tile over drywall, bedroom and master bedroom walls. The kitchen cabinet louvers are affected along with the baseboards. The mold inspection indicated black mold growth on the walls by the baseboards and in some of the closets. The inspectors noted that mold removal and odor removal were necessary. The homeowner had not decided if he wants to go ahead with the clean up.
